Debbi Gordon

Church Administrator

I was born in Long Beach, California and spent almost all of my growing up years there. My childhood was what many would call a fairy tale. My parents loved each other and my sister and I deeply. It was at a time that families ate meals together, vacationed together, and were committed to one another. We didn’t move around. I went to elementary school, Jr. High and high school with the same kids all the way through. My post high school education was at a trade school to become a Medical Assistant, a career I never pursued.

I was a preteen when I was first introduced to Jesus. I asked Him to be my Savior and was baptized. I then went along my merry way. I had many years of enjoyment and endured many crisis and heart aches without really trusting Him.

I moved to the Sierra Foothills in 1979. If we have opportunity to sit together and enjoy a cup of coffee ask me about how that came about. I love to tell the story. But let’s get to the good part. In 1987 I came to the Chapel and truly experienced the presence of God. I recommitted my life to Jesus and more than  asking Him to be my Savior I made Him Lord of my life.

In 1991 I started doing computer input bookkeeping here at the Chapel, then became the full charge bookkeeper. In the mid 1990’s I became the church secretary. Then in 2010 I was asked and honored to become the Business Administrator.

I would tell you I love lists and spreadsheets, but even more I love Jesus and His people. I am a little obsessed (my daughter-in-law told me I should take the word “little” out of this statement) with punctuality and efficiency, but always have time to stop and love on anyone who comes by.

I have been married to my husband Terry since 1989 and have four adult children who have blessed us with 2 grandsons and 6 granddaughters.

The grand babies are probably my biggest and best blessing. Many of them live out of the area which gives us a great opportunity to travel, something else we love to do.

So, whether you are a regular at Chapel, or come in as a visitor, I would love to meet you and chat with you. I’m pretty easy to find since I always sit on the center aisle in the third row.
