Ali Ortmann

I was born and raised in Berlin, Germany were I graduated from High School and started pursuing a job as a dental assistant. I did not grow up in a Christian home, but received Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the age of 16 through my neighbors witness. Shortly after that I started attending a local Church and there my love and passion to serve Him grew immensely. My ministries there included a variety of things, among them  ushering, helping out with the Junior High and being involved in the Youth Group.

It was there that I met my husband, Dennis Ortmann, who is an American, and the opportunity to one day move with him to the States was always a possibility. In late 1999 this opportunity became reality and through a series of events, we believe were orchestrated by the Lord, we moved to Twain Harte to serve as Senior Pastors.  We strongly feel that He has led us to Chapel in the Pines to serve Him and love His people. We’ve been married for almost 23 years and have two adult children, Jeremy and Joelle who are the joy of our lives.

I’ve served at Chapel from 2006 to 2016 as the children’s administrator and Junior High Leader. This was especially fulfilling because I enjoy spending time with both these age groups. Circumstances have led me into widening my horizon and since April of 2017 I’ve been the Chapel’s book keeper. I’ve been enjoying my new role and am eager to learn new things. It’s been a joy to serve the Chapel body in this new capacity.
